Mr. Donald Woodrow Odom, 67, husband of Brenda Miles Odom, died Monday, May 21, 2018, at East Cooper Medical Center, Mt. Pleasant, after an illness.
Memorial services will be at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, May 24, 2018, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M., Thursday, May 24, 2018, at the funeral home prior to services.
Donald was born June 10, 1950, in Florence, a son of the late Woodrow Odom and Thelma Locklair Odom. He was a graduate of Lake City High School and owner of Sugarfoot Kennels. He retired from DuPont of Florence and was a member of Pinewood Game Club, Black Creek Coon Club, and in 2015 he was inducted into the SC Coon Hunters Hall of Fame. Donald was an avid hunter and fisherman and was known for his quick wit and love for family and dogs.
Surviving besides his wife, Brenda Miles Odom of Effingham, are sons, Woody Odom of Pamplico and Myles (Rhonda) Odom of Scranton; daughter, Jennifer (Danny) Weber of Lake City; grandchildren, Miranda Odom, Cody Odom, Evan Odom, Kaylee Owens, Baleigh Odom and Albree Jordan; sisters, Joyce (Mike) Stalvey of Myrtle Beach, Susan Spring of Lake City and Gayle Hickman of Shiloh; and special granddog, Tiger "Chewky". He was also loved by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Donald was preceded in death by a sister Yvonne Deas.
