Donna (Hobbs) Tomlinson

Donna Hobbs Tomlinson, 68, passed away peacefully at her home on October 17, 2025, in Conway, South Carolina.  

Born on July 28, 1957, in Sumter, South Carolina, Donna was the daughter of the late Gene and Dora Hobbs. She grew up in South Carolina and graduated from Hannah-Pamplico High School. Her life was marked by dedication—to her family, her faith, and her community.

Donna recently retired from Conway Medical Center after a fulfilling career. In retirement, she embraced the opportunity to enjoy life at a slower pace while continuing to engage in the activities she loved. A faithful servant of the Lord, Donna was a devoted member of Jamestown Baptist Church in Conway. Alongside her husband Jimmy, she found joy and purpose in teaching Sunday School and volunteering in various church ministries.

Her family was the center of her world. Donna gave herself selflessly as a wife and mother, cherishing every moment spent with those she loved most. She is survived by her beloved husband Jimmy; daughters Lauren Brown (Richard) and Amber Stephens (Marcus); grandson John L. Turner IV; sister Lisa Hellams; brother Eddie Hobbs (Connie); and several nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Deborah Hobbs.

Known for her outgoing personality and quick wit, Donna brought warmth and laughter wherever she went. She enjoyed cross-stitching, antiquing, walking through her neighborhood or local parks, and most recently relished the simple pleasures of retirement. May Donna’s memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Monday, October 20, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, October 20, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, 215 East Hwy 378 Bypass, Scranton, SC . Burial will follow at Olanta Baptist Church Cemetery,  605 Park Avenue, Olanta, SC.
