Donna Faye (Smoak) Matthews

Donna Faye Smoak Matthews, 70, wife of the late Garland Leroy Matthews, died Friday, April 2, 2021 at McLeod Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Matthews was born January 5, 1951 in Lake City, SC, daughter of the late Rufus Francis Smoak Sr. and Virginia D. Smoak. Mrs. Matthews worked for Duke Energy and attended Stone Chapel for 16 years, where she worked in the church, Sunday school teacher, Children’s Church, Women’s Ministries and VBS. Donna enjoyed yard work, reading, traveling and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her children, Michelle Kirby (Sam) Miles of Scranton and Jason Anthony Creel of Pamplico; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; sister, Martha (Glen) Coleman of Scranton; brother, Rufus F. (Becky) Smoak, Jr. of Scranton; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 3:00 PM, Monday, April 5, 2021, at Stone Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Pamplico.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM, Monday, April 5, 2021, Stone Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Pamplico.
