Dorothy (Anderson) Tippins

Mrs. Dorothy Anderson Tippins, 96, wife of the late James Allen Tippins, joined her heavenly family on Friday, March 14, 2025 at her home in Columbia.

Mrs. Tippins was born on August 4, 1928, in Hartsville, daughter of the late Lydia McMillan Anderson and George “Mack” Anderson.  

Surviving are her daughters, Janice A. Tippins and Susan Tippins Murphy (Daniel) of Columbia, SC and son, James Allen Tippins Jr. (Christine) of Darlington, SC. She also leaves 2 grandsons, Clay (Michelle) Phillips of Prosper, Texas and Jarrod B. (Jill) Tippins of Florence, SC. and 1 great granddaughter, Lilly Phillips of Prosper, Texas.

Mrs. Tippins was preceded in death by her siblings, Mack Hugh Anderson, Frank Anderson, Kenneth Anderson and Lougenia Anderson Chandler.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Lake City Memorial Park, with visitation to follow the service at the cemetery.
