Dorothy "Dottie" Theresa Smith

Dorothy Theresa “Dottie” Smith, 63, of Scranton, wife of John M. Smith, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025, at her residence with her loving husband by her side.

Dottie was born on May 24, 1961, in Florence County, daughter of the late Willie Joe Powell and Leah Coker Powell. She was a healthcare giver.

Surviving are her husband, John M. Smith of Scranton; children, Sandra (Mark) Tilton and Joe (Lori) Chockley; step-sons, Dustin (Beth) Smith and John (Jessica) Smith; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; siblings, Roy Lee (Theresa) Coker, Patty (Justin) Owens, Mickey Powell and Steve Driggers.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by grandchildren, Allison Prosser and Jeremy Chockley; brother, Mike Baxley.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Coker Miles Family Cemetery, Olanta.
