Dorothy "June" Metcalf

Ms. Dorothy “June” Metcalf, 67, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.

Ms. Metcalf was born on June 28, 1957, in Hendersonville, NC, daughter of the late Jacob A. Metcalf and Dorothy Ward Metcalf. She retired from the US Postal Service as a Mail Carrier in Hendersonville, NC. Ms. Metcalf’s favorite pastime was driving through the countryside with her grandson and riding partner, Ryker Geer, who was the apple of her eye. 

Surviving are her daughters, Destiny (Dan) Preston of FL and Brigette (Rick) Geer of Lake City; step-sons, Ronnie (April) Drake of FL and Scott (Dawn) Drake of NC; grandchildren, Jesse Metcalf, April Rasberry, Abbie Stevenson, Ryker Geer, Levi Drake and Dru Vaughn; sisters, Nancy (Lee) Porter, Joe Ellen (Donnie) Chapman, Debbie Heatherly and Lucy Baines all of NC; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Ms. Metcalf was preceded in death by her siblings, Gail Metcalf, Jake Metcalf, Kathy Metcalf and Richard Metcalf.

Memorial services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends following the service at the home of Ms. Metcalf’s daughter, Brigette (Rick) Geer.
