Dovelt Collins, 80, husband of the late Doris L. Collins, passed away, Saturday, July 17, 2021, after an extended illness.
Mr. Collins was born on August 12, 1940 in Florence County, son of the late Leo Collins and Sarah McKnight Collins. He was a refrigeration mechanic for over 30 years. Mr. Collins attended Faith Holiness Church for over 30 years, he loved his church and pastor. He served as a deacon for over 20 years and was over men's fellowship. He also enjoyed his monthly gathering with his former coworkers. Mr. Collins was a loyal friend to many and loved his family.
Surviving are his sons, William (Becki) Collins of Coward and Chad (Sherry) Collins of Florence; grandchildren, Derrick (Danielle) Collins, Lance (Danielle) Collins, both of Coward and Allison Collins of Florence; great grandchildren, Kaleb Collins and Kamryn Collins; sister, Mary McCutcheon of Kingstree; and his animal companion, Tootsie.
Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Therese Collins; his siblings, Illa Mae Matthews, Ella Mae Matthews, B.J. Collins, Collie Collins, Willard Collins, Connie Stokes, Selvia Jean Collins Sims, Harold Collins, Bobby Collins, Stanley Collins, C. B. Collins and Elmer Jean Floyd.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at The Bible Temple Cemetery, Coward.
