Mr. Dudley Springs, 88, husband of the late Shirley Ann Altman Springs, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Springs was born on April 9, 1936, in Williamsburg County, son of the late Doward William Springs and Bessie Matthews Springs Driggers. He was a member of Leo Church of God and was a farmer. Mr. Springs loved collecting, displaying and telling facts about his arrowhead collection.
Surviving are his two daughters, Sandra (Terry) Prosser of Kingstree and Donna (Ron) Pruitt of Florence; one son, Jamie (Rechelle) Springs of Hemingway; grandchildren, Jessica (Randy) Hatchell of Florence, Rusty Perry of Charleston, Kelsey Pruitt of Indian Rock Beach, FL, Robert Breece, Jr. of Columbia, Hunter Springs of Hemingway, Haleah Ann (Austin) Lynch of Effingham, Jordan Moore of Hemingway, Amy (Alonso) Castillo of Lawrenceville, GA and Justin Prosser of Madisonville, KY; great grandchildren, Ethan, Avery, Cole, Brentley, Olivia, Emsleigh, Bryson, Asher, Sawyer and Ellie Jo; sisters, Lois Wagner and Lucille Mauldin, both of Murrells Inlet.
Mr. Springs was preceded in death by his siblings, Aileen Hanna, William Springs, Betty Jo Springs and James D. “Peanut” Springs; brothers-in-law, Bill Hanna and Douglas Waldrep; sister-in-law, Eula Mae Springs.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Jean Smith and the Staff of Agape Hospice for their loving care for Mr. Dudley and our family during this time.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Highway 378 Bypass, Scranton, SC 29591 and other times at the home of Jamie & Rechelle Springs, 3443 Vox Highway, Hemingway, SC 29554.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Leo Church of God Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Leo Church of God, 5124 Dewey Cox Road, Lake City, SC 29560.
