Earl Creel

Mr. Alton Earl Creel, 73, of Scranton, husband of the late Naomy Tanner Creel, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023, at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center.

Mr. Creel was born on September 10, 1950, in Lake City, son of the late Alton E. Creel and Willa Maude Powell Creel. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a retired electrician. In his younger years, Earl enjoyed many outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing and coaching softball. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Surviving are his daughters, Dawn (Eric) Calhoun, Crystal (Jeff) Crisp, Alicia (James) Kimball, Ann (Joe) Cantley and Missy Marshall; many grands, great grands, nieces and nephews; siblings, Reba (Calvin) Crosby, Pearl (Jerry) Hargrove, James (Wanda) Creel, Ronnie Creel, Wendell (Luke) Creel and Tony (Renae) Creel; sister-in-law, Donna Creel.

Mr. Creel was preceded in death by two sons, Timmy Driggers and John Cribb; brothers, Larry Creel and Darrell Creel; son-in-law, Keith Marshall.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Gaskins Cemetery, Fennell Road, Lake City.  

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Crystal & Jeff Crisp, 1809 Olanta Hwy, Effingham, SC.
