Ebert E. “Butch” Floyd, Jr., 81, husband of the late Elaine Douglas Floyd, passed away Monday, May 19, 2025, at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Butch was born on April 4, 1944, in Lake City, son of the late Ebert E. Floyd, Sr. and Julia Pye Floyd. A lifelong resident of Lake City, he was a faithful member of Lake City First Baptist Church. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Mid-South Metal Specialties of Lake City. Butch had a deep love for Clemson Tigers football and was an avid go-kart racing enthusiast. He cherished time spent with his family and friends and will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, and unwavering spirit.
Surviving are his son, Ebert E.“ Kip” Floyd, III of Lake City; his brother, Randy (Cheryl) Floyd of Lake City; brothers-in-law, Billy (Judy) Douglas of Tabor City, NC and Michael Lara of Florence; sister-in-law, Ellen Wright of Little River; and dear family friends, Patty Gregory and Tanya (Eric) Sebnick; and other extended family.
Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Floyd Miles; sister-in-law, Cheryl Douglas and brother-in-law, Dwayne Douglas.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Agape Hospice for their kindness, love and care that was given to Mr. Floyd.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Lake City Memorial Park. Family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
