Eddie Dean Miles

Eddie Dean “Pee Wee” Miles, 74, husband of the late Geneva Ard Miles, died Friday, April 29, 2022 at McLeod Regional Medical Center of the PeeDee, Florence.

Pee Wee was born on August 12, 1947, in Florence County, son of the late Edward D. Miles and Lillie Mae Evans Miles and was raised by his grandparents, the late Albert & Pauline Evans. Mr. Miles was a Veteran of the United States Navy. Pee Wee was a machinist at Delta Mills for many years, Welder and Construction worker. He enjoyed camping, fishing, westerns and going to the beach. Pee Wee owned his own saw mill and created beautiful benches and swings.

Surviving are his daughter, Dannette (Jay) McKnight of Sumter; brothers, Johnny Miles of Florence and Terry Miles of Coward; sisters, Sharon Tanner of Coward and Debbie (Larry) Baxley of Scranton; good friends, Jimmy McDonald and Dawn Sports both of Florence; great niece, Aliya Collins “knot-head” of Coward; a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and his loyal dog, Blade.

Pee Wee was preceded in death by his step-children, Freddy Tyler, Teddy Tyler, and Donna Tyler; brother, Vinson Miles; grandparents, Albert Evans and Pauline Evans.  

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, May 2, 2022 at Friendfield Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends, 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Carolina Funeral Home.
