Edward "Ed" Welch, Sr.

Mr. Edward “Ed” Welch, Sr., 74, husband of the late Rose Marie Welch, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence.

Mr. Welch was born on January 21, 1951, in Clarendon County, son of the late Samuel Maxley Welch and Edna Anderson Welch. He was  of the Pentecostal Faith, and retired as a farmer for Black River Farms.

Surviving are his sons, Edward (Shirley) Welch, Jr. and Michael Welch; granddaughter, Brenda Marie Welch; grandsons, Scotty Edward (Harley) Welch and Samuel Dalton Welch; step granddaughter, Deanna Sims; step grandson, Holden Sims; great grandchildren, Laylin Welch and Emberlin Welch; brothers, Bob (Shirley) Welch and Kenny Welch.

Mr. Welch was preceded in death by brothers, Ernest Welch, Peanut Welch and Delbert Welch; sisters, Lin Chockley and Sue Johnson.

The family will receive friends from  4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be, 5:00 PM, Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at New Hope Christian Church Cemetery, New Zion.
