Elaine Lee Ardis

Elaine Lee Ardis, 75, widow of Fred Mathis Ardis, Jr, died Saturday, October 23, 2021 at MUSC, Florence.

Mrs. Ardis was born on March 17, 1946, in Florence County, daughter of the late Warren Eugene Lee and Elma Joyner Lee. She was a 1964 graduate of J. C. Lynch High School and retired after 43 years from ESAB as a customer service representative.  Elaine was a faithful life time member of Sand Hill Free Will Baptist Church, where she was a member of Bridging the Gap Sunday School Class and the Women Active for Christ. Elaine loved her home and garden, they were always kept immaculate. Friends and strangers were always met with a story and a smile.

Surviving are her daughter, Dawn (Rodney) Johnson; granddaughter, Sara Caroline Johnson; brother, Troy (Marie) Lee; sisters, Jean Matthews, Teresa McDonald and Patricia (Eddie) McCutcheon; nieces and nephews, Brandon McCutcheon, Jason McCutcheon, Shannon Ham, Denton Matthews, Meike McDonald and Misty Lee.

Mrs. Ardis was preceded in death by a niece, Holly Lee Allen.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Sand Hill Free Will Baptist Church with burial to follow at Matthews Cemetery, Coward.   

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Carolina Funeral Home.
