Elaine Springs Obituary

Mrs. Elaine Cantey Springs, 73, of Lake City, wife of Cecil Springs, passed away Monday, March 4, 2024, at her residence.

Mrs. Springs was born on May 5, 1950, in Clarendon County, daughter of the late David Ralston Cantey and Willa Rea Floyd Cantey. She was a member of Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, worked with the children on Sunday nights doing Object Lessons. Mrs. Elaine was on the playground committee and was responsible for keeping the church calendar updated. She was the brain child behind the “Barrineau Christmas Parade” that has now become a yearly event. Mrs. Elaine retired from the United States Postal Service and was the owner/operator of Moonbeams Boutique. She appreciated her customers and enjoyed sharing the love of God with each of them. Mrs. Elaine never met a stranger and always gave a sweet smile.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Cecil Springs, are her children, Mark (Chrissie) Springs, Kerry (David) Chandler and Karen (John) Ulmer; grandchildren, Amber Springs (Chandler) Smetana, Raghan Springs, Wesley Springs, Matthew Chandler, Mayce Chandler, Hannah (Thomas) Gardner, Noah Chandler, Lizzie Chandler, Addalyn Ulmer, Amelia Ulmer, Aubree Ulmer, and Anniston Ulmer; great grandchildren, Sawyer James Smetana, Bailee Liebenrood, Creighton Chandler and Luke Jones; siblings, Rex (Janie) Cantey, Tamra (George) Richardson and Kendra (Chad) Gibbons; aunt, Carolyn Driggers; cousin and dear friend, Iris (Kenny) Bryant; niece and dear friend, Angel (Robbie) Springs.

The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to Dr. Sreenivas Rao, his nurse Amy Thomas and Amanda McConnell, PA.

Funeral services will be 4:00 PM, Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial to follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
