Mr. Elvis “Dedies” Baxley, 66, of Lake City, husband of Roxie Parrott Baxley, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024, at MUSC Black River Medical Center.
Mr. Baxley was born on June 10, 1958, in Florence County, son of the late J.B. Baxley and Mattie Lee Marlow. Dedies was a true hard worker, always providing for his family. He cherished his grandchildren, spending every moment he could with them. With his infectious laughter, he brought joy to everyone around him. An avid outdoorsman, he found solace in fishing, hunting and grilling for his family.
Surviving are his wife, Roxie Parrott Baxley of Lake City; son, Joey Baxley of Lake City; daughter, Ashley (Edward) Baxley of Olanta; grandchildren, Destiny (Jorge) Baxley of Sims, NC and Elvis Buddin of Olanta; brother, Leslie “Squeky” (Mary Nell) Marlow of Johnsonville; sister, Elloree (Eddie) Freeman of Scranton; many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Baxley was preceded in death by siblings, Don Baxley, Lucelle Lions and John Arthur McGee.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, Monday, December 23 2024, at Carolina Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, December 23, 2024, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Lake Chapel Cemetery, Johnsonville.
