Emily Lou Ann (Goodwin) McDaniel

Emily Lou Ann McDaniel, 50, of Johnsonville, wife of Allen McDaniel, (Emmy as she was affectionately known by her grands), departed this life Thursday, October 23, 2025, after a short illness.

Mrs. McDaniel was born on October 10, 1975, in Georgetown, to Lettie Moore and the late Charlie J. Goodwin. She was raised in the Hemingway and Pleasant Hill area where she attended Pleasant Hill Schools. She went on to get her GED and studied at Strand College of Hair Design & Horry Georgetown Technical College. For a short time she was a nail tech, then later went on to become an registered nurse, working in the ER Triage at Williamsburg Regional & Lake City Hospitals. She was also employed with Adams Life Link Ambulance in Kingstree and later First Choice Ambulance when they relocated to Lake City. Emily was loved by many in her chosen work fields! In her later life she loved the simple things like fishing, cooking up mischief with the children, and playing with the pet dogs, Lucy, Parker, Jagger, and Dixie.

She leaves behind to cherish fond memories, her husband, Allen McDaniel; son, Craig Tomlinson, who will forever cherish the times he shared with his momma; her much loved grandchildren, Emsley Tomlinson, Oliver Tomlinson & Oxley Tomlinson; mother and stepfather, Larry & Lettie Moore; brother Charles (Lynnette) Goodwin; sister, Amber Goodwin; stepmother, Teresa Goodwin; numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, & cousins; special aunt & uncle who loved her as their own, Charles & Barbara Thompson.

She was predeceased in death by her father, an infant daughter & her sister Daphne Tilton.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Outland Church of God, with Reverend Russell Miles officiating.

Family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM, Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Outland Church of God, 22075 Choppee Road, Hemingway, SC 29554.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Dr. & nurses at MUSC Black River Medical who had formally worked and knew Emily well, for tirelessly working to bring her back to us.
