Erica Miles Hardwick, 35, wife of Derick Chad Hardwick, passed away, Friday, October 1, 2021, from injuries sustained in an accident.
Erica was born on February 16, 1986 in Florence County, daughter of Eric Jason Miles and Sherry Floyd Miles. She was a graduate of Lake City High School and was a Missing Accessions Team Member with Change Healthcare for 14 years. Erica was affiliated with Pleasant Meadow Baptist Church and Grace Baptist Church both of Horry County. She gave us all such courage, hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. Erica's Life revolved around her beloved husband and beautiful children. She was a very loyal, devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. Erica enjoyed doing outdoor activities with her family and especially going to the beach. She was a beautiful person inside and out, had a smile that lit up any room and her presence filled it with joy. Erica's life may have been cut short, but she touched the hearts and lives of so many while she was with us.
She is survived by her husband, Derick Hardwick of Loris; her children, Bryce Weaver, Peyton Weaver, Banks Hardwick, Austin Hardwick all of Loris and Alexis Hardwick of Florence; parents, Reverend Jason and Sherry Miles of Scranton; sister, Megan (Matt) McDaniel of Scranton; Maternal Grandmother, Harriett Floyd and Paternal Grandmother, Ruth Miles both of Scranton; uncle, Darren (Donna) Floyd of Coward and aunt, Beverly (Chris) Smith of Hemingway; sister-in-law, Ashley (Chris) Hardwick of Loris and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Erica was preceded in death by her Paternal Grandfather, E.J. "PaPa E.J." Miles and Maternal Grandfather, Stanley "PaPa Stanley" Floyd.
Funeral services will be 4:00 PM, Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, Saturday prior to the services at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Pleasant Meadow Baptist Church Cemetery, 937 Green Sea Road South, Loris, SC.
