Eunice Louise (Ellis) Hodge

Mrs. Eunice Louise Ellis Hodge, 93, wife of the late Curtis M. “Red” Hodge, of Lake City, passed away Friday, March 3, 2023, at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center.

Mrs. Eunice was born on February 14, 1930, in Williamsburg County, daughter of the late William L. Ellis and Eunice Gamble Ellis Smith. She was a graduate of Greeleyville High School, where she was Valedictorian.  Mrs. Eunice was a  faithful member of Northside Baptist Church, loved God and her church.  She was office manager for Belk for twenty years.

Surviving are her son, Louis Ervin Hodge; grandson, Ellis (Traci Chapman) Hodge; nephews, Gamble (Lynn) Ellis, Cameron Ellis and Blake Ellis; sisters-in-law, Jewel Ellis and Dawn Ellis; caregivers, Lisa Castles, Dr. Toney Graham, Beth Moore, Marsha Altman, Annette Cameron and Debbie Woodberry.

Mrs. Eunice was preceded in death by her brothers, William “Bill” L. Ellis, Jr. and David Ellis.

The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Sunday, March 5, 2023, at Northside Baptist Church, 443 Windham Road, Scranton, SC 29591.

Funeral services will be 4:00 PM, Monday, March 6, 2023, at Northside Baptist Church. Private burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Greeleyville , SC.
