Frankie S. Elmore, 82, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born November 1, 1940, in Florence County, a daughter of the late Henry B. Smith and the late Lissie McClam Smith. Frankie was a graduate of J. C. Lynch High School. She was a member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church and served as the church pianist and children’s Sunday School Teacher. She loved spending time with her family, traveling, working in the garden and crafts of all kinds. Frankie worked as a marketing recorder on the tobacco market and for H&R Block filing tax returns for many years. Later, she worked for USDA – ASCS office and retired in 2005.
Surviving are her two daughters, Jeanie Elmore of Florence, SC and Jamea (Earle) Thompson of Dadeville, AL; grandson, Matthew Thompson of Dadeville, AL; sisters, Naomi Baker of Cades, SC, and Judy Woodrow of Camden, SC; sister-in-law, Wanda Smith of Scranton, SC; numerous nieces and nephews; special memories were made with Angie Morris, Barney Lee Morris, Debbie Smith and Joette Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Elmore; two brothers, Harris Smith and Tommy Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, SC, with burial to follow.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
