Mrs. Gayle Gordon Rice, 93, wife of the late Eldon Rice, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1, 2026, in her home in Lake City.
Mrs. Rice was born on July 20, 1932, in South Bend, Indiana daughter of the late Guy Gordon and Ida May Conner Gordon. Mrs. Rice was affiliated with Kingdom Hall in Kingstree. A devoted housewife, she was an avid reader who valued knowledge and independence. She was artistic by nature and had a creative spirit, with a fondness for antiques and country crafts. Mrs. Rice greatly enjoyed playing Scrabble and card games, and she was known for her intelligence and sharp mind. A loving mother of four, she was deeply family-oriented and cherished time spent with those she loved. When her health allowed, she enjoyed traveling and exploring new places.
Surviving are her children, Kevin Rice, Terri Moyer and Guy Rice; grandchildren, Michelle Rice, Shaun Rice, Jasmin Rice, Katie Rice, Cody Rice and Josh Oman; great grandchildren, Deian Hightower, Aethan Hightower, Devon Rice and Savanna Rice; sister, Gloria Gordon.
Mrs. Rice was preceded in death by a daughter, Cherie Sims and a sister, Winnie McKeever.
Services will be private.
