Gerald M Tomlinson

Gerald M. Tomlinson, 86, husband of the late Adele M. Tomlinson, died Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at his residence.

Mr. Tomlinson was born on October 22, 1932 in Sumter County, son of the late Elvin B. Tomlinson and Nona Olivia Floyd Tomlinson.  He was a graduate of Sherwood High School of Lynchburg.  Mr. Tomlinson retired from The United States Air Force and later retired from Baxter Travenol.  He was a member of Hebron Independent Church where he served as deacon and was a member of the American Legion.

Surviving are his son, David Gerald (Ellen) Tomlinson, Sr. of Helen, GA; daughters, Patricia (Greg) Bartlett, of Scranton, Sherri McCutcheon (Harvey Barrineau), of Kingstree, and Susan (Dave) Bowen of Athens, TN; grandchildren, David "Gerald" (Jackie) Tomlinson, Jr. of Lake City, Kristie B. Cantey of Johnsonville, Jason G. (Joanna) Bartlett of Katy, TX, Andrew J. (Amy) Bartlett of Raleigh, NC, Daniel (Niki) Perry of Scranton, Ashley (Jeromie) Harris of Choctaw, OK, Cliff (Kristina) Partin of Duncan, SC and Jessica (John) Terrell of Athens, TN; 15 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Frances Tomlinson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Tomlinson was preceded in death by his brothers, Talmadge Tomlinson, David Tomlinson and Fred Tomlinson; and a sister, Shirley Tomlinson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Friday, July 12, 2019, at Carolina Funeral Home.

Burial will be private.
