Mr. Gerard W. Lowder, 82, of Lake City, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at McLeod Hospice House.
Mr. Lowder was born on February 10, 1943, in Florence County, son of the late Curtis Lowder and Ethelda Lee Lowder. Mr. Lowder was a dedicated member of Lee's Tabernacle and a retired supervisor for La-Z-Boy. With a strong background in machining, he worked at A.B. Dick and La-Z-Boy, where he honed his expertise in the field. In addition to his professional career, he shared his knowledge as an adjunct instructor at Florence-Darlington Technical College and Clemson University, teaching tool and die to aspiring machinists. His commitment to his work and education left a lasting impact on those he mentored.
Surviving are his sons, Shawn (Dolly) Lowder of Scranton and Jared Lowder (Shawn Lockamy) of Lake City; grandchildren, Kelci Lowder and Jaxon Lowder; brother, Tommy (Dianne) Lowder of Lake City; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Mr. Lowder was preceded in death by his siblings, Dermont Lowder, Merwyn Lowder and Deborah Gaskins.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Friday, March 21, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, March 21, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Lake City Memorial Park.
