Ginger Tanner Poston, 84, wife of the late Andy L. Poston, died Friday, July 2, 2021, at McLeod Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Poston was born on December 27, 1936, in Florence County, daughter of the late Julian Florence Tanner and Vernice Cribb Tanner. She was a graduate of Johnsonville High School and a member of Westside Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Poston was affectionately known to everyone as “Nonnie” and “Gingerbread”.
Surviving are her children, Nancy Poston (Joey) Newell, Julie Poston (Mel) Rogers and Andrew Louie (Shanda) Poston, Jr.; son-in-law, Jeff Stewart; grandchildren, Kym Stewart, Cecile Wilson, Stephen (Shelly) Newell, Betsy Newell (Shannon) McAlister, Brandy Newell (Dean) Parrish, Amber Rogers, Tyler (Katelyn) Rogers, Aly Poston, Kaylyn Hucks and Garrett (Anna) Taylor; great grandchildren, Anna Blakely Newell, Alizah Newell, Perri McAlister, Piper McAlister, Evelyn Parrish, Blaine Rogers, Kelsey Taylor, Auldin Taylor and Austin Taylor and a brother, Kerry (Janet) Tanner.
Mrs. Poston was preceded in death by her daughter, Patsy Poston Stewart and a brother, Norman O’Farrell Tanner.
Funeral services will be 4:00 PM, Sunday, July 4, 2021, at Westside Free Will Baptist Church, Johnsonville. Burial, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, will follow at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery, Johnsonville.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Westside Free Will Baptist Church, Johnsonville.
