Gladys "Joyce" E. Morris

Gladys E. “Joyce” Morris 84, wife of Glen Morris, died Thursday, May 19, 2022 at her residence in Fayetteville, N.C.

Joyce was born on August 17, 1937, in Charleston, S. C. daughter of the late Melvin C. Valentine and Gladys Juanita Brown Valentine.  Joyce worked in the hospital as a secretary for many years and she was the best grandmother to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband Glen Morris of Fayetteville are her daughters, Bridgette (Rodney) Scott of Miami, Florida; Glenda Marie (Scottie) Lindsay of Charleston, S. C.; grandchildren, Alexander Scott, Natalie Scott, Christopher Cantrel, Jessica Caron, Chris Simmons, Christopher Benevides, and Eric Benevides; great grandchildren, Nicholas Caron, Abigail Caron and Caden Simmons.

Joyce was preceded in death by children, Cynthia Benevides and Richard Benevides; brothers, Melvin C. Valentine, Jr. and William “Bill” Joiner.

Funeral services will be 12:00 noon, Monday, May 23, 2022 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, S. C. with burial to follow at Shiloh Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at funeral home.
