Mrs. Grace Matthews Floyd, 88, widow of Myers C. Floyd, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at her home in Lake City, surrounded by her devoted daughters.
Mrs. Floyd was born on December 8, 1933, in Florence County, daughter of the late Charlie Matthews and Rebecca Dennis Matthews. She was a graduate of Scranton High School and Emmanuel College. Mrs. Floyd was a member of Lee’s Tabernacle Church. She worked with Talon Manufacturing, AB Dick and later retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield. Mrs. Floyd enjoyed gardening and caring for her beloved children and grandchildren. Her door and kitchen were always open to her family and friends.
Surviving are her three daughters, Sandy Floyd Merritt-Lindler of Columbia, Janet Floyd-Colburn of Lake City, and Melanie Floyd-Foley, and her husband, John P. Foley, Jr., of Wilmington, MA; six grandchildren, Ty (Rosemary) Merritt of Orangeburg, Matthew Colburn, Christopher Colburn and Mary Grace Colburn, all of Charleston, Matthew (Michelle) MacEachern of Canton, MA, Trevor (Delaney) Foley and Luke Foley, of Wilmington, MA; great-grandchildren, Alexandra Merritt, Abby Merritt, Rebecca Merritt, Alivia Burks and Savana Burks; sisters-in-law, Cathy Matthews and Mamie Lou Floyd; brother-in-law, Mendel Floyd; adopted daughter, Deloris Dollard; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Floyd was preceded in death by a son, Myers Carlisle Floyd, Jr; brother, O’Neal Matthews; sister, Elizabeth “Lib” Corbett.

Funeral services will be 5:00 PM, Friday, June 10, 2022, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Lake City Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 PM, Friday, June 10, 2022 at the funeral home.
