Harry Dewey Smith, 82, husband of the late Myrlene Floyd Smith passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019, at his residence.
Mr. Smith was born on July 2, 1936 in Williamsburg County, the son of the late Dewey Tilman Smith and Mary Alice Broach Smith. He was a long time member of Floyd Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and Choir Director. He retired as Co-Owner of S & T Farms and also retired from Carolina Tobacco Market. One of his favorite things to do was traveling.
Surviving are his daughters; Linda (Ronnie) Thigpen and Trena (Allen) Sims, both of Lake City; his son; Russell (Sissy) Smith of Lake City; Grandchildren; Kellie (Wade) McKenzie, Melissa (Jamie) Sullivan, Allison Sims, and Tilman Sims; Great Grandchildren; Cullen McKenzie, Caylen McKenzie, Kenley Sullivan, Charlee Sullivan, Tanner Sullivan and Tyler Sullivan; Brothers; Bishop Clifton (Marion) Smith of Apopka Florida, Jerry (Vanessa) Smith of Lake City and special friend Dot Floyd.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death his siblings, Letha McKnight, Marie McKenzie, Dr. Laverne Smith and John David Smith.
Funeral Service will be at 4:00 PM, Monday, June 10, 2019, at Floyd Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.
