Mr. Harvey Wilson “Stoney” Mims, 80, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at MUSC in Florence.
Mr. Mims was born on October 25, 1944, in Williamsburg County, son of the late Horace W. Mims and Perline Coker Mims. He was a graduate of Kingstree High School and served in the South Carolina Army National Guard. Mr. Stoney retired from Baxter’s Laboratories, after working over 30 years and attended Second Baptist Church of Kingstree. An avid outdoorsman and devoted dog lover, he found peace in the mountains and joy in the company of his family, whom he loved deeply.
Surviving are his life partner, Sandra Wilson; son, Anthony Mims; daughter, Michelle Mims (David Floyd) Lynch; step-son, Robert (Crystal) Wilson; grandchild, Ashley Lynch (David) Britt; great grandson, Carter Britt; step-grandchildren, Rachael Miles, Ashley Miles, Kimberly Miles and Ida Miles; 9 step-great grandchildren; brother, Leon (Jeanette) Mims; sister, Ruth (Swintz) Holladay and many fur babies over the years.
Mr. Mims was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Lynch; brothers, Theron “Buddy” Mims and Fremont Mims; sister, IvaLee Bingham.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM, Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, Kingstree.
