Obituary

Mr. Henry Donald Lewis, 80, husband of, Kathy Daniels Lewis, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025, at his home in Florence, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Lewis was born on November 19, 1944, in Nashville, Georgia, son of the late Lester Lewis and Ora Lee Lewis.  A proud veteran, he served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. His faith was an important part of his life, and he served Grace Free Will Baptist Church faithfully as a Sunday School teacher. Mr. Lewis worked at Baxter and later McLeod Hospital, where he was known for his dedication and steady work ethic. In his free time, he loved nothing more than a good game of pool, especially when shared with his father-in-law, Levern Daniels, and his close friend, Damon Runion.

Surviving are his wife, Kathy Daniels Lewis; children, Charlie (Stephanie) Purvis, Jason Lewis, Michelle Gannon and Gary Lewis; grandchildren, Madeline Lewis, Winston Lewis, Erin June “Atlas” Gannon, Elijah (Hannah) Purvis, Sofie Purvis, Rayne Lewis, Ayden Lewis, Leahanna Lewis, Dakota Lewis, Desiree (Brody) Greer and Daniel Lewis; great grandchild, Isaiah Purvis.

Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Garth Lewis, Kenneth Lewis, Gene Lewis, Ronnie Lewis and Ona Herring.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Grace Free Will Baptist Church, with funeral services to follow at 2:00 PM.
