Mr. Henry Zeno “Sonny” McFadden, Jr., 82, husband of Mrs. Libby McFadden, passed away Friday, January 30, 2026, at his home in Cades, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. McFadden was born October 10, 1943, in Kingstree, son of the late Henry Zeno McFadden, Sr. and Annie Laurie Carsten McFadden. He was a lifelong member of Cades Community Church, where he faithfully attended and formerly sang in the choir. Mr. McFadden was a career farmer and served as a fishing guide on Lake Marion and Lake Moultrie for more than 40 years. He loved farming, hunting, fishing, but nothing brought him greater joy than his family, his devoted wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the pride of his life.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Mrs. Elizabeth “Libby” McFadden; children, Henry Z. (Amy) McFadden, III, Susan McFadden (Roger) McCutcheon, and Craig (Laura) McFadden; grandchildren, Leanne (Taylor) Scott, Sarah Grace (Brett) Smith, Allie McFadden, Lauren (Brandon) McCants, Brandon (Jamie) Ard, Holt (Madison) McFadden, and Meredith McFadden; and great-grandchildren, Emery and Sam Scott, Leta Kate Smith, Linley McCants, and Weston Ard; nephew, Michael Wilson; niece, Laurie Wilson.
Mr. McFadden was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Ann McFadden Wilson; brother-in-law, Vahl Wilson.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 PM Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Cades Community Church, with funeral services to follow at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow at Graham Cemetery, 5 Bridges Road, Lake City, SC.
