Herbert Raymond "Ray" Flowers

Herbert Raymond “Ray” Flowers, 81, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at MUSC Florence.

Mr. Flowers was born on April 20, 1944, in Florence County, son of the late Herbert Elonzo Flowers and Dove Turner Flowers. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Ray was a graduate of Pamplico High School, worked with Carolina Eastern for a number of years and was a retired farmer. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. Mr. Ray was a lifetime member of Mt. Elon Free Will Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Flowers and her children. Mr. Ray is also survived by his daughter, Tracy Flowers (Wendell) Smith; grandchildren, Jessica Shanell (Mikey) Baker, Christina (Chris) Harris, Cassidy (Justin) Bell; great grandchildren, Bentley Cruze Timmons, Nova Rayne Timmons, Harper Harris, Lilly Harris; brother, Richard (Vernelle) Flowers and Mike (Gail) Flowers.

Mr. Flowers was preceded in death by a son, Christopher David “Chris” Flowers and brother, Gerald Bruce Flowers, Sr.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon, Friday, April 10, 2026, at Mt. Elon Free Will Baptist Church, Pamplico, with services to follow in the church sanctuary.  Burial, with military honors, will be in the church cemetery.
