Herman "Greg" Gregory Fennell

Herman “Greg” Gregory Fennell, 59, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025, at his home in Lake City.

Greg was born on January 22, 1966, in Florence County, son of the late Herman T. Fennell and Kathy Parrott McKissick. He was a graduate of Johnsonville High School and received his welding certification from Central Carolina Technical College. Greg loved God, loved to fish, Fords, M & M’s and his diet mountain dew. He had a need for speed and enjoyed going to the dragstrip. Greg also loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a loving, giving, kind person, who was always a witness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Surviving are his children, Katlyn Fennell of Hemingway, Greg (Lindsey) Fennell of Lake City, Kelly Barnhill of Georgetown; his partner, Michelle Hatchell of Lake City; her children, Lance (Carma) Matthews, Roxi (Brian) Miller, Shaina (Courtney) Matthews; sisters, Peggy Powell (Chris) Baxley of Johnsonville, Jessica Fennell of Lake City; special nephews, Shey (Summer) Powell of Hemingway and Christopher (Diana) Baxley of Johnsonville; his grandchildren, Madilyn & Waverly Fennell, Reyse Fennell-Goude, Rex-Marie Belin and Ellie Kate Fennell,  Anistin Stone & Kaiden Huggins, Laney Long, Kenlyn, Adalyn, Autumn Matthews, Matisyn, Matt and Alexcys Christmas.

Greg was preceded in death by a nephew, Elliot Powell.

A Celebration of Life will be 6:00 PM, Monday, March 17, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Monday, March 17, 2025, at the funeral home prior to the services.
