Mr. Heyward Keith Gibbons, 78, husband of Glenda Gibbons, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025, at his home.
Mr. Gibbons was born on January 30, 1947, in Williamsburg County, son of the late Joseph Dewey Gibbons and Susie Mae Ridgeway Gibbons Gray. He was a machine operator with Drexel Heritage Furniture for many years. Mr. Gibbons also worked as a security guard with Firestone and W. Lee Flowers, where he worked until he retired. He was a dedicated Christian, who enjoyed attending church and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Glenda F. Gibbons; are his daughter, Melissa (Tommy) McCants; son, Bryan Gibbons; grandchildren, William “Bubba” (Maceyn) McKenzie, Kayla McKenzie, Brad Stone, P.J. (Sherri) Stone, Whitney Stone, Jessica Gray, Kayla Gray, Matthew Gray, Melissa McCants, Chase (Kali) McCants, Taylor McCants, Jordan (Jonathan) McCants; many great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Mr. Gibbons was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Renee Gibbons; three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Old Piney Grove Cemetery, Lake City.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
