Mr. Leslie Howard Weaver, 85, went to his Heavenly home on Sunday, July 29, 2018.
Howard was born, June 27, 1933, in Florence County, a son to the late Wallace L. Weaver and Audrey Poston Weaver. He graduated from Hannah High School. He was a member of Union Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School Superintendent, a deacon, a member of the choir and RA leader. Howard served in the Army for two years, where he was a M.P. He was on the board of Florence County Farm Bureau. Howard was also a very proud farmer, loved hunting and fishing.
Howard is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Hyman Weaver of 65 years; daughter, Melinda Rebecca Weaver White and her husband David Carl White, Jr. of Florence; son, Christopher Howard Weaver and his wife, Sherry Poston Weaver of Pamplico; grandsons, Bradley Carl (Amanda) White and Brent Howard (Holland) White, both of Florence; granddaughters, Lindsey Rebecca Weaver of Mt. Pleasant and Christen Rená Weaver (Cody) Owens of Pamplico; seven great grandchildren, Payton Elizabeth White, Ansley Hope White, Page Rebecca White, McCoy Howard White, Colton Carl White, Blake Evin White, all of Florence, and Ellison Grace McIntosh of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Mona Weaver Poston; brothers, James (Genevieve) Weaver and William H. Weaver and brother-in-law, Earl Lancie (Jeannie) Hyman.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Legrand W. Weaver; and three sisters, Wardie Jewel Weaver Stone, Jacqueline Weaver Mitcheon and Yvonne Weaver.
Funeral service will be 6:30 PM, Tuesday, July 31,, 2018, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton. Visitation will immediately follow the funeral service at the funeral home.
A private family committal service will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Pamplico.
The family is grateful for the love, kindness and prayers extended to the family and the family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice and McLeod Hospice House.
