Hoyt Raymond Coker, 59, husband of Donna Flowers Coker, died Monday, January 4, 2021, at MUSC Health in Florence.
Hoyt was born on August 26, 1961 in Florence County, son of the late Harmon Kelly Coker, Sr. and Odell Floyd Coker. After the death of his father at a young age, Hoyt was then raised by his mother and older brother, Kelly Coker. He was a graduate of Cades-Hebron High School and was the owner and operator of Hoyt's Auto. Hoyt was a member of Cornerstone Ministries. He enjoyed playing his guitar, fishing, spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Sophie.
Surviving are his wife, Donna Flowers Coker of Lake City; daughters, Chancely Coker and Peyton Coker, both of Lake City; grandchildren, Ryder Floyd, Aubri Floyd, Karson Floyd and Harlow Floyd, all who held a special place in their Papo's Heart; brother, Kelly (Elloree) Coker of Lake City; sisters, Annette McKenzie of Lake City, Dessie Frye of Sumter, Rheba (Elbert) Welch of Lake City, Brenda Carraway of Florence and Elsie McKenzie of Lake City; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Hoyt was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Rogers.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Cornerstone Ministries, Lake City. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Due to COVID-19, the family request for everyone to wear a mask and please maintain the 6 foot social distancing. The family also request everyone to please refrain from hand shaking and hugging one another. The family welcomes everyone and there will be plenty of room to ensure social distancing.
