Mr. Huggins DeWane Humphries, 71, of Lake City, husband of Sandra Farmer Humphries, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025, at his residence.
Mr. Humphries was born on June 4, 1954, in Williamsburg County, son of the late Huggins LaFaye Humphries and Marjorie Eaddy Humphries. Mr. Humphries attended Prospect Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a proud member of Leo Masonic Lodge #310. He earned his Associate Degree in Civil Engineering from Florence-Darlington Technical College and retired as a Mechanical Engineer from International Paper in Eastover after more than 35 years of dedicated service.
He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures — playing golf, fishing, and hunting. A die-hard Clemson Tiger fan, he loved cheering on his team and relaxing while watching his favorite show, Gunsmoke. He will be remembered for his hard work, devotion, and the joy he found in both family and the outdoors.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Sandra Farmer Humphries, are their children, Carisa (Greg) Brown, DeAnna (David) Green and Derrick (Kelly) Humphries; grandchildren, Alydia Lamb, Savannah Humphries, David Green and Wyatt Humphries; sisters, Sandra Williamson and Amy (Blane) Powell; aunt, Miranda Thornhill; uncle, Bennie (Betty Jo) Eaddy; special caretaker and brother-in-law, Richard Farmer; along with other extended family members.
Mr. Humphries was preceded in death by a brother, Martin Humphries.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Little Star Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Lake City.
