Hunter Shayne Smith

Hunter Shayne Smith, 22, died Wednesday, December 11, 2019, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, December 14, 2019, at Matthews Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, to follow at Matthews Cemetery, Lake City.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM, prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of his aunt, Patty Barfield, 1174 Bass Road, Pamplico.

Hunter was born July 25, 1997, in Florence County, son of Creighton McKenzie and Teri Smith McKenzie. He attended Lake City Schools and was a mechanic at Lou's Auto Mechanic Services. Hunter enjoyed fishing and mud bogging.

Surviving are his mother, Teri S. McKenzie of Pamplico; father, Creighton McKenzie of Louisiana; son, Zaylon Smith; grandmother, Sara Smith of Pamplico; aunt, Patty (Mike) Barfield of Pamplico; uncles, Calvin (Melody) Smith of Lake City and Rodney (Lisa) Smith of Cades; and brother, Marty Younce of Johnsonville.

Hunter was preceded in death by his grandfather, Herschel Smith.
