Mrs. Iris Dickerson Hanna, 75, wife of the late Samuel H. “Sammy” Hanna, III, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025, at a private care facility in Scranton.
Born on October 8, 1949, in Florence County, she was the daughter of the late George Hoyt Dickerson and Mary Baxley Dickerson. Mrs. Hanna was a graduate of Indiantown High School. She was a devoted member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and also attended Cades Baptist Church. For 40 years, she served faithfully as an Administrative Assistant at Lake City Community Hospital, where her dedication and warm spirit touched the lives of many. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend, who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are her son, Matt (Amanda) Hanna of Lake City; her grandchildren, Hunter Hanna (Tyler) Allen, Logan Hanna, Paisley Hanna (Dalton Watts), Carson Hanna, and Mary Kearsten Hanna; daughter-in-law, Jennifer A. Hanna; sister-in-law, Debbie (Roy) Moore; many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hanna was preceded in death by her son, Samuel H. “Sam” Hanna IV, and her brother, Randal G. “Randy” Dickerson.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Carolina Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Graham Cemetery, 422 Five Bridges Road, Lake City, SC 29560.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Debbie & Leon Antwine and Agape Hospice for their love and care given to “Mama” during her illness.
