Ishmael “Mike” McGrady, 71, of Johnsonville, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence.
Mr. McGrady was born on April 3, 1953, in Florence County, son of the late Rag Altman and Frances Cameron Altman. Mr. McGrady was a talented interior decorator, bringing joy and beauty in the lives of many through his thoughtful and creative designs. He was a loving and giving soul with a contagious sense of humor, always joking and bringing laughter to those around him. He selflessly put others before himself and will be deeply missed by his beloved dog, Chandler.
Surviving are his cousins, Lynn (Jessie) Marsh, Joshua Dorsey, Lofton (Brittany) Marsh, Skyler (Sunshine) Marsh, Debbie Cameron, Cynthia Gerald and Wayne Nicholson, all of Johnsonville; many other cousins and extended family members; aunt, Goldie (Edward) Powell of Hemingway.
Mr. McGrady was preceded in death by his companion, Robert Deshazo and his brother, Ken Altman.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Garden of Devotion Cemetery, Johnsonville. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
