James B. Guy

Mr. James B. Guy, 80, of Scranton, husband of Janice McCutcheon Guy, passed away Friday, June 21, 2024.

Mr. Guy was born on November 12, 1943, in Charleston, son of the late L. Revis Guy and Bertis Owens Guy. He worked for General Telephone Company (GTE) for over 30 years, and was a member of Lake City First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and helped with the Disaster Relief Team. Mr. Guy was a leader of the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing with the Tri County Seniors and gardening. After retiring he committed a lot of his time and work for the church.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Janice McCutcheon Guy and son, James “Jamie” Guy, Jr. of Florence; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Guy was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Michelle Guy; brother, Joe A. Guy.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM, Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Lake City First Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Lake City First Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Lake City Memorial Park.
