Mr. James Edward Miller, 80, of Hannah-Pamplico, husband of Cynthia Cooper Miller, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at his residence.
Mr. Miller was born on January 20, 1945, in Cheverly, Maryland, son of the late Raymond Miller and Katherine Robey Miller. A veteran of the United States Air Force, his life was a testament to courage, compassion, and a deep commitment to serving others. He was a dedicated firefighter, and possessed a sharp mind and a generous spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. His passion for NASCAR and his playful sense of humor made him a cherished friend to many. As a father figure, he provided tough love mixed with unwavering support. He found joy in simple pleasures like browsing the flea market and cherished the companionship of his beloved dog, Tobey.
Surviving are his wife, Cynthia Miller of Hannah-Pamplico; daughter, Virginia Fender of Hannah-Pamplico; grandchildren, Danay Butler, Douglas Deshields, Zion, and Amiri Gibbs; sisters, Barbara Tippett of Florence and Margaret (Bill) Guyton of Brandywine, MD; nephews, Tal (Nancy) Tippett of Willowsprings, NC, Stephen (Shannon) Tippett of Johnsonville and Skippy (Teresa) Boland of Brandywine, MD; nieces, Sandy (Barry) Underwood of Indianhead, MD, Sherrie (Allen) Jenkins of Mechanicsville, MD and Kathy Miller of Waldorf, MD; host of great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by two sons, John Miller and James Miller; a brother, Charles Miller.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be 11:00 AM, Monday, January 27, 2025, at Florence National Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
