Obituary

James Warren Evans, 76, passed away Monday, August 14, 2023, at his residence in Florence.

Mr. Evans was born on December 11, 1946, in Florence County, son of the late Archie Bryan Evans and Olive Calhoun Evans. He attended Shiloh Church of God of Prophecy. Mr. Evans worked as a steel erector and was known as the “Chicken Man”.

Surviving are his daughters, Shanda Evans (Steve) Gamble of Florence, Tonya Michelle Evans of Olanta and Agnes Elizabeth Evans (Brandon) Stephens of Timmonsville; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Nathan “Archie” Evans of Marion and Frank Evans of Coward; sister, Carolyn Evans Powell of Scranton.

Mr. Evans was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Evans and a sister, Vivian Yarborough.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, August 18, 2023, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Shiloh Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery, Coward.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
