Janet Irene Powell Floyd, 72, wife of the late Alton Floyd, died Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at her home in Lake City.

Janet was born on August 9, 1949, in Florence County, daughter of the late Fletcher T. Powell and Annie Sue Glisson Powell. She attended Terrell’s Church of God of Prophecy and Floyd Chapel. She enjoyed going out to eat with friends.  

Surviving are her brother, John Powell of Sumter and her sister, Dora P. Cooper of Conway; a number of nieces and nephews; special friends, Linwood Morris and Valerie Feagin; and her extended family, The Filyaw Family.

Mrs. Floyd was preceded in death by siblings, Edgar Powell, Doris Mae Powell Collins, Bobby Foster Powell, Mary Ann Powell Long, Donald Powell and Patricia Powell.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Old Piney Grove Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Terrell's Church of God of Prophecy, 1109 New Zion Road, Lake City, SC 29560 or Floyd Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1701 New Zion Road, Lake City, SC 29560.
