Jasper William McKenzie

Mr. Jasper William McKenzie, 76 husband of Jean Altman McKenzie, passed away Friday, December 13, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Mr. McKenzie was born on January 31, 1948, in Williamsburg County, son of the late William Blonzar McKenzie and Juanita Floyd McKenzie. He retired after more than 30 years with Santee Print Works in the Maintenance Department. Mr. McKenzie was a member of Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness church. He took great pride in maintaining a beautiful vegetable garden and loved spending time fishing for Bass on Black River.

Surviving are his wife, Jean Altman McKenzie of Lake City; son, Donnie (Tammy) McKenzie of Kingstree; sister, Joyce Lee of Scranton; grandchildren, Elizabeth McKenzie and William “Boyd” McKenzie; step-son, Brent Prosser of Columbia; step-daughter, Brooke (Matt) Creel of Pamplico; step grandchildren, Madison Creel and Emerson Creel; brothers-in-law, Jakey Altman and Jamie (Robin) Altman; other extended family.

Mr. McKenzie was preceded in death by his siblings, JoAnne McKissick, Cecil Chadwick McKenzie; father & mother in-law, Jay and Ruby Altman; sister-in-law, Iris Altman; brother-in-law, Wayne Lee.

The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Amedisys Hospice and Dr. Benjamin Wade Lamb for their loving care.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial directed by Carolina Funeral home will be in the Church Cemetery.
