Jerry Hudson Smith

Jerry Hudson Smith, 75, died Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Lake City Community Hospital.

Jerry was born on June 19, 1944 in Florence County, son of the late Dewey Tilman Smith and Mary Alice Broach Smith. He was a retired maintenance mechanic and was a faithful and dedicated member of Life Baptist Church in St. Stephens. Jerry enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife, Vanessa Morgan Smith; sons, Jerry Mark (Tammy) Smith of Ooltewah, Tennessee and James David Smith of Oklahoma; daughters, Jamie Beth Lee of Barrineau and Karen Gail Smith of Lake City; grandchildren; Matthew Hardwick, Elizabeth Lee, Trey Lee, Taylor Register, Michael Smith, Tony Smith, Justin Smith, Sara Bella Smith, Noah Lee Smith, Timothy Jordan Smith, Cayden Mark Smith and Trinity Mae Smith; brother, Bishop Clifton (Marion) Smith of Apopka, Florida.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his son, Dewey Phillip Smith; brothers, Harry Smith, John David Smith and Laverne Smith; sisters; Marie McKenzie and Letha Bell McKnight.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with burial to follow at Floyds Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Monday, January 27, 2020, at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.
