John Wesley Jones

John Wesley Jones, 54, husband of Jewel Miles Jones, died Monday, June 6, 2022 at his residence, Scranton.

Mr. Jones was born on October 28, 1967, in Charleston, SC, son of Troy Lee Jones and the late Patricia Ann Chattman.  John worked in construction most of his adult life. He was a kind and considerate man who would help anyone he could and he always saw the good in everyone he met.  His hobbies consisted of singing, fishing, creating things, tinkering outdoors and cutting grass.  The one thing he enjoyed most was playing with his dogs, especially Chico, who was his best friend.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Jewel Miles Jones, are his children, John Wesley Jones, Jr. of Scranton, William Kenneth (Misty Renee) Jones and Ariel Cherise Jones, both of Florence.  John is blessed with five wonderful grandchildren, Jaylen Wallace and Gage Cox, both of Scranton, Shayne Fipps and Madison Tisdale, both of Florence and Mack Tisdale of Ladson; siblings, Millie (Lee) Evans of Jasper, Georgia, Laurie (Alan) Rice and Fred Nava, Jr., both of Midland, Texas; along with many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Ann Chattman and his sister, Penny Davis.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with burial to follow at Lake City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
