Mr. John Clayton “Clay” Lee, 61, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center.
Mr. Lee was born October 24, 1964, in Florence County, the son of the late Johnny G. Lee and Betty Joyce Floyd Lee. He attended Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mr. Lee worked as a lineman for Sumter Builders, prior to becoming disabled.
He graduated from East Clarendon High School, where he excelled in athletics. Clay loved fishing, hunting, and all types of racing. He also enjoyed working in his yard and beekeeping.
Surviving are his sons, Maxi (LeeAnn) Lee and Ryan Lee; daughter, Madison Lee; granddaughter, Marley Lee; sisters, Sinkie Driggers and Joye (Kit) McLean; aunt, Pearcy Floyd; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Mark Driggers.
Funeral services will be private.
