Joseph "Sam" Alan Hicks

Joseph Alan "Sam" Hicks, 58, died Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence.

Mr. Hicks was born on December 3, 1961 in Florence County, son of the late James W. Hicks and Harriett Oakley Hicks Parrott. Sam was a graduate of Hannah Pamplico High School and was a carpenter. He was an avid sportsman and a diehard Clemson fan.

Surviving are his siblings, Linda (Don) Nettles of Scranton, Jerry (Patty) Hicks of Florence, Joanne (Arnold) Fennel of Johnsonville, Vivian (Bird Dog) Hicks of Coward; girlfriend, Angela Hudson of Effingham; lifelong friend, Buddy Ronnie Matthews.

Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by a brother, James L. Hicks.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Friday, March 6, 2020, at Camp Branch PH Church, with burial to follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM, Friday, March 6, 2020 at the church.
