Obituary
Joyce Dennis Stokes, 88, wife of the late J.M. “Shorty” Stokes, died Monday morning, August 19, 2024 at her home in Scranton, SC.
Mrs. Stokes was born July 30, 1936 in Florence County, daughter of the late Simeon Nat Dennis and Evelyn Barfield Dennis. She was a graduate of Lake City High School. Mrs. Stokes was a member of Matthews Tabernacle PH Church and worked at Libby’s Florist for several years.
Mrs. Stokes was preceded in death by her siblings, Tink Dennis, W.D Dennis,
Sammy Dennis, Delmus Dennis and Jeanenne Dennis Miles. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews and extended family members
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Baldwin Matthews Cemetery in Lake City.
