Joyce Lee Miles

Mrs. Joyce Lee Miles, 78, beloved wife of the late, Jimmy A. Miles, entered her eternal rest on Thursday, January 1, 2026, in Coward, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 18, 1947, in Florence County, she was the daughter of late Woodrow Lee and Louise Matthews Lee. Mrs. Miles was a graduate of J.C. Lynch High School and devoted many years of service to Florence County, retiring from the Human Resources Department. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved traveling to the beach and mountains and cherished the memories made on those trips with the people she loved the most.

She is survived by her daughters, Angie Coward and Tonya (Jonathan) Matthews; grandchildren, Taylor (Jessy) Colley, Kirby (Whitney) Jones, Alex Matthews, Foster Matthews and Jonathan Coward; great grandchildren, Kyndal, Jayden, Eli, Stella, and Heaven; great-great grandchild, Anslee; siblings, Betty  Jordan,  Kenneth (Betty Jean) Lee and Pansy (Travis) Cox.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Miles was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Lee and her son-in-law, John Coward.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Coward Pentecostal Holiness Church, with funeral services to follow at 3:00 PM in the church sanctuary. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
