Justice Bowen Baxter, Sr. Obituary

Justice Bowen Baxter, Sr. died on March 19th, 2024 after a brief illness. Born March 22nd, 1929, he was the son of  Mary Bowen Baxter and Justice Harold Baxter. He was married to Sheridan Putman Baxter (deceased) for sixty-seven years, and he is survived by his children: Laura Baxter Landrum (Joe), Justice Bowen Baxter, Jr. (Pam), Charles Putman Baxter (Cheryl, deceased), James Edwards Baxter (Lisa), seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Before moving to Lake City in 2000, he was a lifelong resident of Atlanta, Georgia, where he was President of Ryco Printing Company, President of the Printing Association of Georgia, President of the Atlanta Lions Club, a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, a Past Master of Pythagoras Masonic Lodge; a member of the Yaarab Shrine Temple, the Scottish Rite Hospital Committee on Child Care, a member of the Session at Midway Presbyterian Church and Clairmont Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Lake City Presbyterian Church.

The Family wishes to express their deep appreciation and grateful thanks to those who have helped them minister faithful and loving care to Bowen: Dr. Albert D. Mims, Elease Fulton, and Jannie Cobb.  Memorials may be made to the Lake City Presbyterian Church and Lake City Meals on Wheels, Post Office Box 1747, Lake City, SC 29560.

The funeral will be held at a later date in Tucker, Georgia at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
